Have you ever been stumped on where to go for Vacation?  I am currently there.  I LOVE VACATIONS.... I am a planner, so therefore to be sitting in January and not having the whole year planned out, is unusual for me.  When I say I am a planner, I mean that any vacation trip that my family embarks on, I have a 3 ring binder typed up and ready to go.  It might include print-outs of restaurants, thing to do, water temps., etc...

This is more a cry for help, then it is a challenging Blog.  I am interested in hearing where others go for Vacation.  I grew up going to Ludington, Michigan almost every year for vacation.  My wife grew up going to a different location every year.  I am not a huge fan of LONG drives with the 3 kiddos (more than 10 hours), and don't want to pay for airfare.  I am contemplating taking the family to Washington D.C. this June.  I have also heard of Kiawah Island in SC.

Share with me your favorite vacation destination.  If you have website addresses, make sure to include them as well...

I'm sorry to say I won't be of much help to you. 'Vacation' to me is time away from home with a good book and a clean campground. Waking up with the chirping of birds and going to sleep by the lulling song of bullfrogs.

I grew up in a family who deemed vacations either a trip to Grandma's or camping in the woods. And truth be told, while going to Grandma's was wonderful for us kids, it wasn't much of a vacation for my parents. Mom always said she needed a vacation after the vacation. But then, she said that after we went camping too.

I hope someone out there has a great idea for your 2010 vacation. Somewhere where the kids can run wild and free while you and the Mrs. can sit and relax. A Disney cruise? ")

Our favorite vacation spot is Marco Island, Florida. It is a small island south of Naples on the Gulf Coast. We've been probably six times and never gets old. It's a beautiful place, not very touristy or commercialized. The beaches are great, wonderful fresh seafood and plenty of interesting things to see and do.
